This is more of a collector item or item of kitsch for a Law & Order fan than it is a toy fo r kid. It came with no literature of any kind, and took a few minutes to understand how to use it. It's fun to have.

This gavel was a Christmas gift for my husband, who has been a judge for almost twenty-five years. We are "Law and Order" fans, and I thought this would make a cute gag gift. My husband found it amusing, and will keep it in his chambers. It does make the iconic "Duh-Duh" noise. It is made of plastic, quite lightweight. It is not as big as a regular gavel, which was kind of disappointing. It's only about seven-eight inches long. But for the price, it's cute.

Didn't work at all. Don't think it is the batteries though because it started briefly while I was uncrewing the battery compartment. Couldn't get it to work at all!
