Colors are a little off but a great cup nonetheless...

Comments about this product:

While on the hunt for a Law & Order mug, I was disappointed to find no one sells one with the distinct 'dun dun' sound effect but was pleased to come across this bodega coffee/Anthora mug that pays homage to many NYC-based shows including Law & Order and I was happy to 'settle' for this one.

It is a few ounces smaller than a traditional 11 oz. mug (see photos) and since it has no handle if you put anything too hot in it, don't expect to be able to pick it up without a sleeve till your drink cools a bit. On one side of the cup there's a soft vertical bump and a soft dent in the rim to simulate the cup was made of paper which is a nice little detail I hadn't noticed in the photos. It has the Solo Cup stamp on the bottom so you know it's official and says it was made in Thailand. And while the ceramic is thick and the mug has a nice weight to it, I personally use it for holding pens because it looks cuter sitting on my shelf than it does in my cupboard.

I only give it 4 stars because the photos show a more shiny electric blue which a real bodega cup typically is not and, thankfully, this mug isn't either. What you get is more of a dark pastel/air force blue with orange gold and those colors are more matte than they are glossy. Solid, cute mug overall but unless you like your caffeine in small amounts this is probably more for display than actual use.

    Comments about this product:

I got so excited when I pulled the cup out of the box because now I have one just like the rest I see in the many t.v. shows! I currently have it placed high on a shelf, so whoever passes by can see it. I did quite a bit of research before finally purchasing the infamous cup. I assumed it was for display purposes only, which is why I bought it, but I didn't know the cup was also being used to drink out of. If it was my intention to use the cup everyday, I preferred it came with a lid.

          Comments about this product:

As a former New Yorker who drank from these "To Go" Cups for years, I was very excited about having them in my home for morning coffee.

While the cups look great, they are much smaller than the real version and hold just a few good sips of coffee. Although ceramic, they get extremely hot with just a regular pour from a coffee pot and cannot be held right away.

As a conversation piece or a momento of my home town they are great - but as a regular every day coffee cup - not so much.
